We work with an amazing coffee importer in Guatemala that travels deep into the mountains to find the best coffee possible. While tasting thousands of coffee each year, they occasionally come across truly stand out, vibrant coffees. They call these coffees: "Arcoiris", spanish for "Rainbow", a metaphor for the wild different flavors these coffees have.
The Huehuetenango region is nearly 2 million acres in size, made up of steep mountains and dense jungle. Somewhere in this, is the tiny 1.5 acre farm "Mumuxa". At this farm, Martin Paz and his family check all the boxes to grow amazing coffee. The farm is high altitude and in a micro-climate that gets plenty of rain. It is filled with inherently sweet Bourbon and Caturra variety coffee trees. They also employ a unique Kenya-like, double wash process after harvest that that really makes this coffee shine. Every time we drink this coffee, we are blown away. It performs brilliantly as filter coffee and espresso.
